About us

Blinds and Borders is a small but growing Window Treatments company based in Huntsville, AL. Started in 2007 as an independent, family owned company, Blinds and Borders continues to operate free of any franchise. We serve Madison and surrounding counties with custom blinds, shade, shutters and drapery.

About you

  1. You are an excellent communicator.

  3. You enjoy creating order out of chaos, finding efficiencies, and improving systems.
  4. You are incredibly organized and reliable.
  5. You have an “I’ll learn it” and “I’ll figure it out” attitude, and eagerly take feedback that helps you improve.
  6. You have basic computer skills, can work a Google Sheet in your sleep, are comfortable in Google Docs, and are quick to adapt to new software. 

What You'll Do

This list is dynamic and may change as business needs change.

  • Daily:
    • Keep track of product shipments and communicate to the team.
    • Maintain the company calendar
    • Consolidate client information into our CRM.
    • Update Google Sheets records with sales metrics and other data.
    Weekly:
    • Draft* & Schedule company updates on Facebook and Instagram
    • Draft* & schedule blog posts
    As needed
    • Organize job photos
    • Other one-off tasks

(*Training on how to develop these will be provided. There is a system)

Who is a good fit for this role

This is a great position for a reliable college student interested in business or sales. Whether you are looking for a temporary job that is interesting or one that could potentially turn into a full-time role, this position will expose you to many aspects of running a business. Low stress and positive work environment. Must embrace (or at least tolerate) dad jokes.

Also, a great role for a stay-at-home mom looking to work a few hours each day while kids are at school. Or an experienced admin who wants the flexibility of a part-time job.

Details:

  • Part-time 10-15 hours a week
  • $20/hr
  • Paid as a 1099, biweekly 
  • Some tasks are needed daily, some are needed weekly, some are needed occasionally. You have flexibility for when the tasks get done, but it requires consistency in that schedule.

Job is remote and requires you to have a working computer.
