We get it.

You've been looking at blinds or shades and something keeps feeling like a compromise. They work, but they don't quite make the window feel finished, they cover it without completing it. You want something that looks like it was built for the house.

Plantation shutters are in a different category. They mount inside a full frame, louvers inside panels inside a surround, and become part of the window architecture. They look intentional. They're durable. And they don't go out of style.

Shutters might be right for you if:

  • You want a window treatment that adds long-term value to your home

  • You want something that looks architectural, not decorative

  • You want light control that doesn't require raising or lowering anything

  • You're tired of blinds that break, warp, or look cheap after a few years

  • You're finishing a new home and want every window to look intentional

How it Works

How Our Shutter Installation Works

Step 1 | In-Home Consult

After an initial phone call, in which we can usually provide a ballpark estimate, we come to you! Step 2 | Custom Order

Shutters are fabricated to your exact window specifications. Lead time varies by product, and we keep you updated throughout.

Step 3 | We Install It

Shutter are a gorgeous window treatment, but if installed incorrectly, they will leave you wanting. Our factory trained installer team handles the entire installation process and makes sure every panel operates correctly before we leave.

  • A plantation shutter consists of a full frame that mounts to the window opening, with hinged panels containing horizontal louvers. Louver size typically ranges from 2.5" to 4.5", larger louvers provide a more open view when tilted. Configuration options include full-height panels, cafΓ©-style (bottom half only), tier-on-tier (top and bottom panels that operate independently), and specialty configurations for arched, oval, and other non-standard windows.

We carry both composite and real wood shutters. Composite shutters are moisture-resistant and more durable for humid spaces. Real wood shutters offer a slightly warmer look and feel in dry living areas. Both are available in a wide range of paint and stain finishes.

  • Installation is more involved than a shade install, we're mounting a complete frame system. Most residential installs are completed in a single day. Lead time from order to installation varies by product.

  • Plantation shutters are generally considered a value-add. They're a permanent architectural feature, not a removable treatment.
